I don't think our dealer has actually sold one of these crazy geared trucks for downspeeding yet. There is not many independent shops that have knowledge about Paccars and sadly some dealers are lacking in that respect as well. Jul 23, 2013 · I've been told that the MX motor has a lot of the same issues that the Maxxforce has (goes through turbos, egr coolers, dpf issues). How accurate any of that is, idk. Though I have been told by both Petro and TA shops that the MX is the most expensive engine to do a PM on because of all the filters being proprietary to Paccar The MX-13 stacks up nicely in a part of the market that is starting to look crowded with 13-litre product. It lugs along and feels nicely balanced and at home under the T4 bonnet shroud. However, Kenworth buyers still have the option of a 15-litre Cummins in the T4 with horsepower ratings up to 600 galloping gee gees.510/1850 is the max factory setting for a Paccar MX-13. You might get a little more between 50,000-100,000 if you keep it pulling all the time (no cruise), but they are fairly gutless motors compared to 15-litre alternatives. They only really wake up if you remove the thing choking them off. Its a completely different motor. Aint no contract agreement, warranty or no warranty. Its more the truck manufacturers and the customers pushing for downspeeding for better fuel economy. The engine manufacturers just try to make it happen. Look for corrosion/excessive build up. Any corrosion or pitting in the venture will affect EGR gas mapping. Check EGR Differential pressure sensor. make sure both lines are clear and not plugged. make sure O-ring to sensor is not cut/damaged.
